Knutson, from Spring, Texas, earned Tournament MVP honors after scoring a pair of goals as the Bears became the first team to earn back-to-back MVC Tournament titles since 2011-12. Knutson picked up his first strike of the tournament in the 65th minute of UCA's thrilling 2-2 draw with Missouri State, stepping up for a free kick just outside the box. He fired a perfect shot over the outstretched fingers of the MSU keeper that curled down at the last second, striking the underside of the crossbar and finding the back of the net to even things up at 2-2. Knutson would also set the tone for Central Arkansas in the penalty shootout, taking the first shot for the Bears and putting it away easily.

He would score again in the 53rd minute of the championship match, as Christian Ilia curled a free kick into the box to Jake Bates. Knutson would crash down from the top of the box, beating his defender to Bates' header across the face of the goal and volleying home a header of his own, again using the crossbar to his advantage on what would prove to be the game-winner.

"Daltyn has had a fantastic season so far," said UCA head coach Ross Duncan. "I feel like he's a guy that has always been underrated by everyone outside of our program, so for him to finally get some recognition now is really cool."

Knutson and the Bears open play in their second-straight NCAA Tournament on Thursday, heading to Colorado Springs, Colorado to take on Air Force. Kickoff for the match has yet to be determined.
